Meet Our Attorneys
My name is Lawrence Obin II. I was born and raised in Illinois, obtained degrees in Political Science and History from MacMurray College located in Jacksonville, Illinois in 1996, and graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School located in Lansing, Michigan in 2001. While pursuing my legal degree, I had the fortune to serve as an Associate Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, Editor-in-Chief of the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical & Clinical Law, and as the Brief Writer for the law school’s National Moot Court Team. After graduation, I became a member of the Florida Bar in 2002.
I chose to become a lawyer for one simple reason – I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people. I practiced criminal defense when I began my legal career, which allowed me to gain significant jury trial experience, hone my skills in the art of persuasion, and help those that were facing the loss of something absolutely vital – freedom. Thereafter, I transitioned my practice to defending insurance companies and their insureds in personal injury and property damage lawsuits. It was at this stage of my legal career that I learned the mindset of insurance professionals, their processes and procedures, and especially how they analyze and negotiate cases. After that, I applied my knowledge and talent towards exclusively representing the victims of negligence. It is profoundly satisfying to be an advocate for victims that are injured in motorcycle collisions, automobile collisions, commercial truck collisions, and incidents involving premises liability. I am honored that Mr. Newlin selected me to be a member of his team at Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys and I look forward to continuing to use my talent and experience for the benefit of injured clients. I can be reached at (407) 845-1761 or [email protected] and look forward to meeting you.
