My desire to be an attorney started at a very young age. Just shy of my thirteenth birthday my brother, Troy, suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury) following a tragic automobile accident. He was in a coma for four and a half months, leaving him severely disabled. One week after the accident I clearly remember my mom receiving a letter from the insurance company stating that Troy’s hospital stay was no longer medically necessary. I witnessed my mom fighting the insurance company from the very beginning. This personal experience had an incredible impact on my life. Not only do I understand the agony but I understand the additional pain an insurance company can potentially inflict on the lives of people and their families. While some disabilities may not be as visible as my brothers, I understand completely that anyone who has suffered a personal injury through no fault of their own has the right to be represented by an attorney that will make sure the insurance company does not deny, minimize or disregard any benefit or monetary compensation for the injuries suffered and losses sustained resulting from the negligence of another.
Fast forwarding from that moment in my life, through years of hard work and dedication I have undergone intense work experience and training that has allowed me to become a skilled personal injury trial lawyer to help injured victims and families through very difficult times. As the old saying goes “hard work pays off,” and when my peers have recognized my years of hard work, it means a great deal me. I am proud to have earned an “AV” and “Preeminent” rating by Martindale-Hubbell. This recognition comes with having achieved a high level of legal ability and ethical standards in my legal profession. I have worked hard to help and understand that the needs of each client are different. As I start each day, I am committed to achieving justice for my clients.
Not only do I commit my time to practicing law and achieving justice for my clients, but I also have recognized how important it is to serve our legal profession and our local community through various leadership roles. I was honored to serve as President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida and President of the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association. Both of these local Central Florida organizations are well respected amongst our legal and judicial communities. Currently, I serve on the Executive Committee of the prestigious Florida Justice Association which shares my same beliefs and dedication to help strengthen and uphold Florida’s civil justice system and protect the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers. Making sure each person has “access to courts,” and “a voice,” after having been victimized through no fault of their own, makes my job and work ethic tireless.
I am honored and grateful to join Dan Newlin and his extraordinary team, and continue our incredible passion for obtaining justice for our clients and their families.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, which I believe shares why I decided to be an attorney and how I was destined to do what I do. There won’t be a day that goes by that I am not committed to achieving justice for my clients and making sure that their voice is heard.
