Meet Our Attorneys
My name is Laura Blundy and I have been practicing law for over 14 years. Thank you for reading a little about my experience. During the course of my career, I have had the privilege of representing all types of people involved in various civil and criminal matters. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an attorney and advocate for anyone seeking justice. My brother was just a little boy when he was shot and lost his eye. If it wasn’t for the attorneys hired to help him, he would have never received a fair financial resolution that allowed him to get the medical treatment that he needed. As a young person, I was in awe of the good work performed by those attorneys and vowed that I would spend my life helping others the way that my family was helped.
As a Central Florida native, I graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Winter Park High School and attended the University of Florida on a full academic scholarship. With the goal of becoming an attorney in mind, I went to school year-round and ultimately graduated Cum Laude in three years. I subsequently accepted admission to the Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans. I specifically chose Loyola because of their excellent academic record and emphasis on social justice work. I was a member of the International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team where we travelled to Netherlands, Belgium and competed against teams from all over the world.
When Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, I stayed and interned with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), where I worked to help bring justice to those victims who were left behind. The ACLU of New Orleans subsequently presented me with the “Defender of Civil Liberties” award for my efforts at investigating and protecting the rights of our citizens.
Prior to joining Dan Newlin & Partners, I worked at a prestigious defense firm representing Insurance carriers all over the state. The knowledge gained working for them allows me to pierce the system and advocate for my clients with skill and influence. The insight and relationships built over the years has proven invaluable, and greatly assisted with my ability to maximize financial recovery for my clients. As a skilled trial lawyer with experience representing clients in various counties throughout the state, I enjoy fierce advocacy, negotiation, and strive to provide the best possible outcome for clients.
When Mr. Newlin invited me to join his team, I was overjoyed at the opportunity. My goal has always been to help people, and now I get to do that every day as a personal injury attorney. If you or a loved one have been injured in a car accident, slip/trip and fall, or dog bite, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 321-234-4213 or at [email protected]. It would be my honor and privilege to represent you.
