1. Report the accident immediately

If you know of witnesses who saw the crash, point them out to the officers, as law enforcement will want to interview them. Before law enforcement leaves the scene of the accident, ask the officer for a copy of the information, or at a minimum the name of the law enforcement agency, officer’s name, and crash report number.

2. Seek immediate medical attention

3. Get the names and contact information for all witnesses

It’s always better to have more information than less. Get the contact information from all witnesses you can. 4. Take photographs at the scene
