FAQ's: Your Questions Answered
SUV Rollover FAQs
Being involved in an automobile accident can be a very traumatic experience and accidents involving SUV’s can prove to be even more traumatic as they often result in significant injury and damage to property. If you are involved in an SUV accident either as a driver, passenger or pedestrian, or know someone who has been involved, here are a few tips on what you should do immediately following:
If you are able to call 911 and report that you have been involved in an SUV accident, do so immediately. Following the arrival of law enforcement, make sure to fully cooperate with them and explain how the accident happened in detail. If you know of witnesses who saw the crash, point them out to the officers, as law enforcement will want to interview them. Before law enforcement leaves the scene of the accident, ask the officer for a copy of the information, or at a minimum the name of the law enforcement agency, officer’s name, and crash report number.
Injuries sustained in auto-accidents can vary from minor to severe to life-threatening. If you are experiencing any form of pain following an accident get medical assistance immediately. If there are paramedics at the scene of the crime you can ask them for medical assistance. Whether you carry automobile insurance or not, get the medical attention you need.
It’s always better to have more information than less. Get the contact information from all witnesses you can. Our office will immediately contact all witnesses and have them interviewed by a professional investigator. If you do not know the witnesses personally, they are considered to be “independent observers” and their statements could prove to be very valuable to your case.
Use whatever camera or phone you have available to document the accident. Make sure to include damaged vehicles, injuries, and any obstacles that could have caused the accident.
